Classical music, possibly the most technical genre of music, had a major role on history during the 1700's and was performed to virtually only royalty and the wealthiest people on the planet. Where are we in 2011? Society has become so ignorant that we honestly have unintentionally sabotaged ourselves. How? We support music coming from Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, etc. Don't get me wrong I fully support people to follow their dream and make music, however I strongly disapprove society leaving musicians, song writers, and lyricists that have a lot more talent to rot, living life check to check, while the virtually talentless to live "The American Dream". My point is please educate yourself, see what else is out there, and when you listen to a song next time ask yourself, does this piece have a message? Is it too repetitive? did it take talent to write this? Before you spread your ignorant opinion by word of mouth, listening to it on the internet, or even wearing a t-shirt.
The more you educate yourself the more the industry will be forced to change.
